Forming a firm seedbed at 15 km/h
A great example of working efficiently in the field
Working efficiently in the field today is all about smart combinations and minimizing the number of passes. A great example is this Güttler Duplex front packer with tine attachment that we recently delivered: one machine that combines several operations in a single pass.
The frontpacker in detail
This frontpacker has a working width of 3 meters and is equipped with a tine attachment and two rows of prism rollers®. This configuration ensures a well-thought-out sequence of operations, with the soil being prepared step by step for an ideal seedbed.
The working method is simple:
- The tine attachment first levels the ground and removes unevenness.
- Next, the prism rollers® (a patented system by Güttler) take over: they further crumble the soil while also compacting it.
The result?
A uniform, finely crumbled structure that is ready for the next operation.
What stands out is the working speed of about 15 km/h. Despite this high pace, the quality of the work remains high. The soil is easy to work, and the machine delivers a neat and homogeneous result. The video speaks for itself.
Even more advantages
- Thanks to the preparatory action of the front packer, the tractor creates fewer ruts and there is less wheel slip.
- The rotary harrow is also relieved because it does not have to work as intensively to prepare the soil for sowing.
This combination shows how targeted pre-processing not only saves time, but also contributes to better soil structure and more efficient use of machinery. One pass, with maximum impact.
