Massey Ferguson launches the MF 8S Xtra series
Renewed and improved
Massey Ferguson has today introduced the new MF 8S Xtra series. This series builds on the success of the MF 8S models, which have won multiple international awards since their launch in 2020. The MF 8S Xtra not only offers a renewed design, but above all significant improvements in driver comfort, technical efficiency, and ease of use.
A new level in the 200–300 hp segment with the Massey Ferguson 8s Xtra
The MF 8S Xtra series includes six models, ranging from 205 to 305 hp. The powerful AGCO Power 7.4-liter engines come standard with the proven ‘All-in-One’ emission technology and, with Engine Power Management (EPM), offer the possibility of a temporary power boost of up to 20 hp, depending on the model. This allows users to count on maximum performance during heavy-duty applications.
Freedom of choice in transmission options
One can choose from three different transmission options: the semi-powershift Dyna-7, the innovative Dyna E-Power with dual clutch, or the stepless Dyna-VT transmission. This freedom of choice makes it possible to fully tailor the tractor to specific business needs and working methods.
New standard in cab comfort and control
The driver’s environment has been thoroughly reviewed and enhanced in numerous ways. In the spacious 3.4 m³ cab, the steering wheel has been redesigned, a Dual Motion seat option has been added, and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors are now available. Also new is an integrated entertainment package that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB radio, and high-quality Focal speakers. Operation is managed via a wireless terminal mounted on the rail on the right side of the cab, featuring a clear 6.75-inch color touchscreen.
The familiar Datatronic 5 terminal remains the central hub for controlling tractor functions, GPS systems, and precision farming applications. New is the option for a second screen (Fieldstar 5) for users working with multiple control levels.
Smart technology for higher productivity
The MF 8S Xtra is equipped with the latest technologies that make work not only simpler, but also more efficient. The optional MF AutoTurn enables automatic turns in the field, while MF Section Control allows up to 96 sections to be switched on or off automatically. All models are AEF ISOBUS-certified, ensuring maximum compatibility with modern implements.
Through the MF By You personalization program, it is possible to further equip the tractor with, among other things, a Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS). This system adjusts tire pressure based on terrain and load, resulting in less soil compaction, lower fuel costs, and increased pulling capacity.
Better performance, lower consumption with the Massey Ferguson 8s Xtra
One of the technological improvements involves the new software for fan control, which ensures optimal cooling efficiency at lower speeds. This not only results in fuel savings but also increases engine performance by up to 5 percent. For dusty environments, there is also a reversible fan available that automatically blows dust and dirt out of the radiator without requiring the driver to stop.
For users working with hydraulic tools, a new option is available in the Efficient version: decompression levers on the hydraulic valves. These make it easier to connect hoses, even when the engine is running, thus contributing to greater working comfort and time savings.
Efficient lighting and increased safety
For the first time, the powerful 360-degree LED lighting package is available on the MF 8S Xtra, previously reserved for the top model MF 9S. This set includes 20 work lights and provides up to 51,500 lumens in total – an increase of more than 50 percent compared to the previous generation. Additional LED lighting on the handles improves visibility and safety during transport and night work.
Design with character
The striking neo-retro design of the MF 8S has been preserved, but with the MF 8S Xtra it has been further refined with a matte black front grille, streamlined exhaust pipe, and black side panels. The result is a powerful visual identity that highlights the technological and functional innovation of the series.
